Political Issues Analysis System

The world of politics can be murky at the best of times. For those seeking to understand the complex nature of political events, the internet is a vital resource.
Funded as a seed project by the University of Melbourne’s Institute for a Broadband Enabled Society (IBES), VeRSI is leading an investigation into the ways in which people interact with political information on the internet by evaluating their decision-making and deliberative processes. The project will test users’ needs, illuminate the online tools that are proving useful and identify what tools still need to be developed to assist users searching for information online. This is especially important as audiences continue to abandon the more traditional broadcast media in favour of online information.
