Undertaken at La Trobe University and funded by the Australian National Data Service (ANDS), People and Place incorporates numerous discrete archaeological databases currently in use around Australia into a central web-based database, able to be accessed and utilised by archaeologists around the country.
By combining these localised collections, People and Place is able to couple artefacts with dates, names and other historical records to provide a fuller understanding of Australia’s history and citizenry. Information placed in this database will contribute to the ANDS Research Data Australia collection.
