The Youth Research Centre in the University of Melbourne Graduate School of Education, has conducted a study looking at the life patterns of Gen X high school leavers comparative to Gen Y graduates.
The centre maintains a database of 2000 Australian students who finished high school in 1991 as well as 3000 who finished in 2005, who will be tracked on a biannual basis until 2014.
Through funding from ANDS, VeRSI is working with the centre to enable wider access and use of the data; to streamline the capture of new data; to build capacity to respond to requests for derived data sets; and to develop tools which will capture the relevant metadata, extracting it from workflows.
