Humanities and Social Sciences

As with scientific research, there is a rising use of computing
tools and methods within humanities research. The Digital Humanities
have for a number of years used computing techniques for text encoding,
visualisation, and analysis of large corpora that are usually
electronically stored and processed. Methods of visualisation and
mapping are also playing an increasing role in humanities research.
VeRSI is active in the Digital Humanities community and is building a
portfolio of projects.
VeRSI is working with researchers in the humanities on the following projects:
- People and Place
- Political Issues Analysis System - IBES seed grant funded
- 3D Imaging of Cultural Objects
- Youth Research Centre
- Connecting HASS to the register
- HASS Data Capture
