Security & Access

eResearch involves collaboration between researchers and the sharing of resources at different institutions, where different security systems apply. Researchers need to be able to control, monitor and access resources, including information, data, research tools and services. Such control requires authentication and authorisation that in turn relies on effective identity management.

 
The VeRSI Security & Access project addresses these issues, utilising Shibboleth, implementing Identity and Access Management and Virtual Organisations. A feature of the system is single sign-on, providing a single means of authentication to a range of research resources.
