VeRSI Activities

VeRSI is undertaking projects that fall into three categories: life- and eco-science capability projects, synchrotron science and enabling technology.

The capability projects are exemplars of production quality eResearch methods that serve as tangible examples of the benefit of eResearch in the life-, eco- and material sciences.

The primary focus of activities supporting synchrotron science is the development of the Virtual BeamLine (VBL) on the protein crystallography beamline at the Australian Synchrotron. It will provide remote access to experiments and give researchers the same functionality from their laptops as they would have on-site.

Enabling technologies focus on essential ICT and infrastructure for eResearch, such as federated storage and identity and access management, and eResearch communications, support, training, awareness and outreach.
